She was our flourishing, flower child who continued to bloom in the midst of her battle with Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 1. Flo liked Tinkerbell, music, Elmo, and books; but she was the happiest when she was with her mama + daddy.

The #MamaGrief community was created shortly after Florence died. I really needed a public place to express my grief, specifically as a mother. I think healthy grief demands recognition by society as a normal part of life. Turns out, thousands of others need this space too and have shared using this hashtag.
